FairLife L.C.C. runs the Authentic Marathon Race of Athens along with Christos Apostolakos to spread his empowering message against lung cancer.
FairLife L.C.C. takes part in the Authentic Marathon Race of Athens, on Sunday, November 13, 2022, running the 5 km route, carrying the message “Let Life take your Breath away, not lung cancer!”
Christos Apostolakos, a friend of FairLife and a lover of life and physical exercise, runs the race and inspires us through his personal story. Having his daughter Vassia Apostolakou by his side, Christos defies lung cancer and opens the road to optimism, perseverance and the determination to Live !
Christos’ optimistic message capture the power of his soul: “Last year, at the age of 66, I was diagnosed with lung cancer, stage IV, with metastases to the brain and liver. Lung cancer is the deadliest cancer, worldwide. However, I didn’t give up. I keep going and fighting the disease with both body and mind! This year, on Sunday 13 November, feeling unexpectedly well, I will be running the Athens Classic Marathon, the 5km route, with my young daughter, supported by FairLife’s team. At this point, I would like to emphasize FairLife’s amazing work to advocate for lung cancer patients.”
FairLife’s Marathon team includes patients, caregivers, family members as well as brand ambassadors Ioannis Fountoulis, Kiki Tsakaldimi and Zisis Soulios.
Korina Pateli-Bell, President of FairLife L.C.C., noted: “Lung cancer both can and must be beaten. Allies in this effort are physical exercise, a healthy way of life, mental health and optimism. Christos Apostolakos is an inspiration for everyone, he is the living proof that we can succeed. We are grateful for the role model he represents, we thank him for his friendship and his support. We would also like to thank our ambassadors for their participation and ongoing presence in support of FairLife. On Sunday, we are all joining the celebration of life to share the message “Let Life take your breath away, not Lung Cancer!”

FAIRLIFE – LUNG CANCER CARE
FairLife Lung Cancer Care, the first non-profit organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, was created in memory of Simon Bell, who lost the battle with lung cancer, at age 57, in August 2020.
FAIRLIFE L.C.C.’s mission is to support patients throughout their difficult lung cancer journey, from diagnosis to treatment as well as to raise public awareness towards prevention and screening, so as to reduce mortality rates and ensure equal access to diagnostic methods, clinical trials and innovative treatments for every patient.
