Targeted therapy is a type of cancer treatment which uses medication to fight specific types of cancer cells, including certain types found in lung cancer.
Scientists have developed drugs that directly target mutations in cancer cells, as they learn more about specific cell mutations. These drugs focus on specific parts of cells and protein signals which make them grow and divide without control.
