Kravvari Maria Christina
Christina-Maria Kravvari is a retired Captain of the Hellenic Air Force who prior to her position as Secretary General of Public Health at the Ministry of Health has served as Head of the Health Department at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection from March 2020 to April 2025.
She graduated in 2012 from the Hellenic Military Nursing Academy as a Second Lieutenant and served at the 251 Hellenic Air Force General Hospital until 2020. She holds a Master’s degree in Social and Preventive Medicine and Quality in Health Care, with a specialization in Prevention & Public Health, from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has also completed the coursework of the two-year Executive MSc in Health Economics, Policy & Management at the London School of Economics (LSE). She has been appointed Alternate National Representative to the WHO for the Behavioural and Cultural Insights for Health initiative and is a member of the Advisory Body of the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA).
In 2022, she received a Certificate of Completion for the online programme “Leadership and Character in Uncertain Times” from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and in 2023 she was awarded a scholarship to participate in the International Seminar Program at the Hoover Institution, Stanford University.
Her research interests include public and environmental health, emergency health risk management, and the provision of humanitarian assistance.
In addition, she has been appointed as the Ministry of Health’s representative to the Health Security Committee, the European Environment and Health Task Force, the Joint Procurement Agreement Steering Committee, and the Informal Commission Expert Group on Global Health in Development Cooperation of the European Commission.
