FairLife Care and Prevention for Lung Cancer is organizing an informational event titled “Lung Health” in the city of Alexandroupolis!The event will take place on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 18:00 to 20:30 at the Alexandroupolis Prefecture Building (Hall “ALEXANDROS CRITES”), in collaboration with the Pulmonology Clinic of Democritus University of Thrace.
The event will be broadcast online on the organization’s channels and marks the third in-person informational meeting as part of an initiative to raise public awareness about lung health.
Highlighting the importance of lung health is one of the primary goals of FairLife L.C.C., that works daily to prevent lung cancer and implement screening programs for the disease in Greece.

FairLife L.C.C.’s “Lung Health” initiative is expanding its actions to selected areas of Greece in an effort aimed at reducing mortality rates and increasing early detection of lung cancer in the country through heightened awareness and access to screening services.
The event’s thematic sections will focus on lung cancer screening and the latest treatment options for the disease. Additionally, aspects of holistic disease management, such as psychological empowerment, physical well-being, and nutrition, will be discussed. Personal experiences will enrich the event’s discussions, with lung cancer patients sharing their stories.
The event features 16 speakers, including representatives from the Church, scientific, academic, and research communities, Greek government officials, and patients.

The event will be moderated by Mr. Paschalis Stiropoulos, Professor of Pulmonology and Director of the Pulmonology Clinic at Democritus University of Thrace.
The event is aimed at those experiencing lung cancer and other pulmonary diseases, caregivers, healthcare professionals, academic institutions, medical students, and the general public.

Free Screening Tests
As part of the collaboration between the Screening Clinic of the Pulmonology Clinic at Democritus University of Thrace, FairLife L.C.C., the DEMOCRITUS Diagnostic Laboratory, the PRIVATE RADIOLOGICAL DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY IATRIKI S.A., and EUROMEDICA PRIVATE DIAGNOSTIC LABORATORY ALEXANDROUPOLIS S.A., 80 free lung cancer screening tests using low dose computed tomography (Low Dose CT) will be offered to the public.

“FairLife – Care and Prevention for Lung Cancer” is the first and only non-profit social organization in Greece that exclusively focuses on lung cancer, the leading cause of cancer death in our country and worldwide.
The organization’s mission is to provide information and raise awareness about the prevention of lung cancer, as well as to offer holistic support to patients and their families throughout their journey with the disease.
To support our mission:
- We provide information on prevention, early diagnosis, and screening to reduce mortality.

FairLife – Care and Prevention for Lung Cancer was founded in memory of Simon Bell, 57, who lost his battle with lung cancer in August 2020.
