“Alexis’s story”
The hero of FairLife L.C.C. ‘s new animation video informs and raises awareness of the value of early diagnosis of lung cancer
As part of its Lung Health program to raise awareness of lung disease and lung cancer, FairLife Lung Cancer Care and Prevention creates a short animation video starring a fictional hero, 56-year-old Alexis, father of 2 children, who was diagnosed with lung cancer at an early stage.
Alexis’ story is a call for information and awareness. He urges us to recognize the signs and symptoms and seek medical help in a timely manner.
At the same time, it is a message of hope and strength, as it reminds us that with knowledge and proper health promotion, we can prevent, have an early diagnosis and have many chances of optimal treatment outcome.
The awareness for the prevention of the disease and the inclusion of lung cancer screening in the National Prevention Plan “Spyros Doxiadis” have been and remain key pillars of the actions of FairLife L.C.C. since the establishment of the institution.

A video under the auspices of the Hellenic Society of Pulmonary Oncology, the Hellenic Society of Pathologists of Greece, the Hellenic Society of Radiotherapy Oncology, the Hellenic Society of Pathological Anatomy and the Hellenic Society of Thoracic – Cardiac – Vascular Surgeons.
As the President of FairLife L.C.C., Corina Pateli Bell, stressed: “Through the art of animation, Alexis shows us the way of prevention, monitoring our health and reminds us of the value of early diagnosis. Lung cancer is a serious challenge. Today, we have the resources to prevent and detect it in time, as long as we are informed, sensitized and “listen” to our body when it gives us the first symptoms.”

“FairLife-Lung Cancer Care and Prevention” is the first and only non-profit social organization in Greece that deals exclusively with lung cancer – the 1st cause of cancer death in our country and worldwide.
The mission of the organization is to inform and raise awareness for the prevention of lung cancer as well as the holistic support of patients and families on their journey with the disease.
To support our mission:
- We inform about prevention, early diagnosis and screening in order to reduce mortality.
- Raise awareness of the value of a comprehensive molecular test
- We provide psychosocial support to patients, caregivers and family members.
- We encourage and educate patients, vectors and the general public about the value of clinical studies and access to new innovative therapies.
- We are working to combat the stigma associated with smoking.
- We activate the new generation and the general public for the positive impact of clean environment on the health of our lungs. To this end, we promote environmental awareness, sustainability actions and sustainable practices in the context of tackling climate change.
FairLife- Lung Cancer Care and Prevention was founded in memory of Simon Bell, 57, who lost his battle with lung cancer in August 2020.
