The 4th Annual FairLife Lung Cancer Care Conference, entitled “Lung cancer in the spotlight – New perspectives and challenges” will be held on November 27, 2024, 10.00 – 19.30 p.m. at the Atraktos venue (Marathonomachon 8, Athens) and will also be broadcast online on the organization’s channels. The conference is the highlight of FairLife L.C.C.’s November activities for Lung Cancer Awareness Month.

In its 4th consecutive year, the hybrid conference organized by FairLife L.C.C. integrates both scientific and practical insights on lung cancer. The event seeks to inform policymakers and the public about the importance of prevention and early detection, featuring presentations from leading health experts.
The conference will cover key themes, including prevention and early detection of lung cancer, the diagnostic process in Greece, management of early and locally advanced stages, the value of clinical trials, recent advancements in treating metastatic disease, and a holistic approach to supporting those affected by lung cancer.
The 4th FairLife L.C.C. Conference is intended for individuals affected by lung cancer, their families and caregivers, healthcare professionals, scientific organizations, medical students, relevant stakeholders, and the general public.
The conference will be moderated by journalist Elena Papadimitriou.
The event will include more than 50 speakers and commentators from the scientific, academic, and research communities in Greece and internationally, along with representatives from the Hellenic Church, the Greek State, patient advocacy groups and the pharmaceutical industry.
Speakers will address recent advancements and challenges, including the implementation of lung cancer screening in Greece, diagnostic procedures and the potential impact of artificial intelligence, optimal strategies for early-stage and advanced lung cancer, the role of clinical trials in oncology within the Greek context, personalized treatments in contemporary disease management, and holistic approach to patient care.

The conference’s introductory session will host Mina Gaga, MD, Former Deputy Minister of Health, Director of the 1st Pulmonary Clinic, HYGEIA Hospital, Member of the Standing Committee of the WHO European Office, who will present the latest figures on lung cancer in Greece.
