Korina Pateli- Bell appeared on April 19, 2022, on the Greek television program “Connections”, hosted by journalists Kostas Papachlimintzos and Christina Vidou.
Mrs. Pateli – Bell spoke about the race against lung cancer, stressing the importance of early diagnosis.
“Every single hour a person is lost to lung cancer in Greece”
Regarding smoking and how it is ultimately associated with lung cancer, she stated: “The truth is that smoking plays a very important role, but what we need to know is that anyone with lungs can get lung cancer. Smoking can be a major factor but it’s not the only one.”
On how the pandemic has impacted oncology patients, it was highlighted that 1 million people across Europe remain undiagnosed and will be diagnosed late, suggesting their treatment options will be limited.
