Fairlife vigorously advocates for healthy lungs. Lung Cancer is not invincible!

  • September 15 2021
  • Press Releases

The distinguished mountaineer Nikos Magitsis acts as the new FairLife Ambassador and informs the public about lung health, contact with nature, exercise and healthy lifestyle, spreading the message of Lung Cancer prevention and the importance of early diagnosis.

FairLife – Lung Cancer Care, the first non-profit organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, actively supports prevention, screening and overall health promotion. According to Fairlife, actions related to lung health and exercise, a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition are just as important to health as prevention.

In this context, Fairlife welcomes top mountaineer Nikos Magitsis, who becomes the new FairLife Ambassador to communicate its message to the wider public.

Nikos Magitsis, having lost his father 10 years ago to lung cancer, states:

«It’s a pleasure to be a part of Fairlife’s family, which helps and supports lung cancer patients. I enjoy every moment, which «takes my breath away».The message we wish to convey through mountaineering is that you don’t need to have strong lungs to go to the mountains. But you need to go to the mountains to keep your lungs strong.Lung Cancer is not invincible, we can beat it, as long as the disease is early diagnosed and treated».

Korina Pateli- Bell, President of FairLife LCC, added:

«In FairLife, we understand the concept of health as a state of physical, mental and social wellbeing and not just the absence of illness and disability. The philosophy of Asklepios on health practices focused on mild and regular exercise, healthy diet, connection with nature, relaxation, sleep, healthy relationships and creativity. We are therefore very happy to partner with Nikos Magitsis, a top Greek mountaineer, who loves mountains, nature and humans as a whole.»

FairLife warmly thanks Nikos Magitsis for kindly providing the video to serve the organization’s purposes.
