Gkoura Stefania
Dr. Stefania Gkoura is a Medical Oncologist and Consultant at the 2nd Oncology Department of Metropolitan Hospital, Athens. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina, Greece, where she also completed her PhD in the field of liquid biopsy—a research project supported by a fellowship from the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncologists (HSMO).
She is certified by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) and has completed a series of advanced training programs in Precision Medicine, Immuno-Oncology, Clinical Trials, and Palliative Care. She has also served as an instructor and is an ALS-certified educator of the Hellenic Society of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
Since 2022, Dr. Gkoura has been serving as a Consultant at the 2nd Oncology Department of Metropolitan Hospital, focusing on the systemic treatment of solid tumors, with particular expertise in lung, breast, and gastrointestinal cancers. She has significant experience in clinical research, actively participating as a sub-investigator in national and international clinical trials, primarily in the field of lung cancer.
She has been invited as a speaker in more than 100 national congresses. Her scientific work includes numerous presentations at Greek and international meetings (ESMO, ASCO) and publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals. Her main research interests focus on clinical and translational oncology. She is a member of the Young Medical Oncologists Group (YMO), the Hellenic Society of Medical Oncologists (HSMO), Women for Oncology Hellas (W4O), the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
