Kourlaba Georgia
Georgia Kourlaba serves as an Assistant Professor of Public Health Nursing – Prevention at the Department of Nursing, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. From 2022 to 2025, she held the position of Assistant Professor of Research Methodology – Evidence-Based Nursing Practice at the Department of Nursing, University of Peloponnese. She is a member of the Public Health Expert Committee (PHEC) of the Greek Ministry of Health and has previously served as a regular member of the Board of Directors and Acting Vice-President of the National Public Health Organization (EODY), as well as an alternate member of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). She has taught and continues to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the fields of epidemiology, research methodology, disease prevention and public health, biostatistics, and health technology assessment. Her research interests focus on the control and prevention of healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance, the estimation of population vaccination coverage, the epidemiology and prevention of chronic diseases, and health technology assessment. She has published more than 165 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, and her work has received over 5,800 citations, with an H-index of 44.
