1997-1999: Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine , 2000: PhD Diploma 

2003-2004: Clinical Training in Interventional Pulmonology at AZ VUB Hospital in Brussels, Belgium, (Prof. Marc Noppen). 

Current Occupation and Research 

• 6/2023 Professor of Interventional Pulmonology. Head of the Interventional Pulmonology Unit. 1st Resp. Medicine Dept of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, “Sotiria” Hospital, Athens, Greece.

• Since 2008 Coordinator of the working group of Interventional Pulmonology of the Hellenic Thoracic Society and since 2013 Reagent of Greece in World Association for Bronchology and IP as well as National Delegate of European Assossiation for Bronchology and IP. 

• Main research topics include Interventional Broncho-Thoracoscopy, Lung Cancer, Central Airways Strictures, Post transplant central airway complications, Simulation based training in IP as well as BLVR in Emphysema and Pulmonary Rehabilitation in advanced COPD patients. 

• During 2010-2020 organized a big number of international training courses and hands on seminars on diverse IP modalities, on Lung cancer diagnosis and management peripheral pulmonary lesions approach, as well as on Central airway obstruction and interventional management.

• Certified Interventional Pulmonology Trainer (WABIP) and ERS trainer for EBUS/bEUS bronchoscopy 

• Invited speaker in many international seminars and Hands-on courses on IP /Thoracic Endoscopy every year. Invited speaker in > 120 symposia and/or congresses 

• President and organizer of the 6th ECBIP, held in Athens, Greece 15-17/10/2021
