New series of Podcasts Titled «Lung Heath »
Athens, September 19, 2024 – FairLife Lung Cancer Care is excited to introduce a new podcast series titled ‘Lung Health’. This initiative aims to inform and raise public awareness about adopting healthy lifestyle practices, preventing serious lung diseases, and the early diagnosis and management of lung cancer.
Each episode features specialized health professionals, patients, caregivers, and survivors, who address questions about lung health, common lung diseases such as COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and its connection to lung cancer. The episodes cover symptoms and risk factors, such as smoking and air pollution, which negatively impact our health. They discuss the pandemic’s effect on diagnoses and surgeries, the need for prevention programs in Greece, and the role of primary healthcare in identifying suitable candidates for screening. The value of prevention (primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention) is emphasized, and tips are provided, including healthy nutrition, physical exercise, and early diagnosis through low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) screening.
Furthermore, up-to-date and reliable answers are given regarding new therapeutic approaches, the role of biomarkers in lung cancer treatment, the significance and limitations of next-generation sequencing (NGS), and the impact of diagnostic quality on patients’ access to personalized treatment.
Early diagnosis of lung cancer is at the forefront, discussing best practices for detection and disease management throughout the patient’s journey. Challenges and the stigma surrounding the illness are highlighted, along with the importance of the social environment and psychological support.
Personal stories from patients and caregivers illuminate the difficult path of lung cancer, sending messages of optimism and hope through the voices of those who have experienced the illness and sharing their journey.

FairLife – Lung Cancer Care and Prevention was founded in memory of Simon Bell, who lost his battle with lung cancer in August 2020 at the age of 57.
