Caregivers are the strength in the journey with illness!
From Melina K. , family member
I los my father due to lung cancer…in June 2023. Our story began in a strange way and ended quickly. In March, he started getting tired very easily and he wasn’t in a good mood.
We started checking what was going on, since he also had a mild cough. So, our first visit was to a pulmonologist, who gave him cortisone without ordering a CT scan. After that, a list of tests followed. Later we visited a cardiologist, a gastroenterologist and finally we ended up visiting an internist, who ordered a CT scan which revealed stage 4th lung cancer.
It was May 5th. By the time we planned the chemotherapy, my father left just like how he was, standing on his own feet . His disease defeated him… Lung cancer is a devious disease!
When it gives you serious signs then unfortunately it’s too late.
IN MY HUMBLE OPINION…give great importance to PREVENTION and ask for a second and third opinion from doctors.
To those who are caregivers, BE STRONG!
