Get Tested!: Awareness Campaign by Lung Cancer Europe

  • October 2 2023
  • News, Press Releases, Campaigns, Our actions

Lung Cancer Europe (LuCE) in partnership with FairLife Lung Cancer Care is proud to announce that together with 23 of its Member Organisations,  unite in a public lung cancer awareness campaign which launches today and will span the month of October. The goal of this campaign is to encourage people to understand the importance of biomarker testing in lung cancer.

Did you know? Biomarker testing can benefit 20-30% of people with lung cancer by identifying alterations or mutations within a lung cancer tumour.

If your tumour is positive for a treatable biomarker, this can provide more treatment options and can help create personalised treatment plans using targeted therapies, which may improve outcomes and increase survival rates.

The goal of this campaign is to encourage people that are diagnosed with lung cancer to be aware of biomarker testing.

Remember, anyone with lungs can get lung cancer. Getting an accurate diagnosis of your disease, may lead to a better outcome. Don’t wait, Get tested!

Anne-Marie Baird, President of Lung Cancer Europe, says “Our goal is to educate everyone on the importance of biomarker testing in lung cancer and work to increase equity in access to biomarker testing across Europe so that anyone who might benefit from it would have access to it.”

The Get Tested 2023 campaign builds on the Get Diagnosed in 2022 and Get Checked in 2021. The goal of this campaign is to increase public awareness of biomarker testing including those diagnosed with lung cancer.

The getchecked.eu website is a high-value resource available to Europeans in 17 languages—Croatian, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Swedish, and Ukrainian.
