November- Lung Cancer Information and Awareness Month: FairLife will be #en_drasi
A range of online activities and subject-related events
FairLife – Lung Cancer Care, the first non-profit organization in Greece, exclusively dedicated to lung cancer, will be online #en_drasi throughout November, the Lung Cancer Information and Awareness Month, trying to raise public awareness about prevention and early diagnosis, which save lives.
FairLife invites everyone to participate in the action “Let Life take your Breath Away!” and join their voices online for a good cause! We support those who are ill, we remember those who left us! Wear the t-shirt “LET LIFE TAKE YOUR BREATH AWAY” and choose your destination and activity. Take your picture, upload it on social media with the hashtag #en_drasi and join us by tagging @fairlifelcc.
Meanwhile, FairLife launches a range of subject-related events – Asklepieia #en_drasi -, aiming to link ancient healing temples, such as Asklepieia, with physical exercise (walking, running, cycling, etc.), a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition.
A holistic approach to health, as followed by ancient physicians, will be promoted through various physical activities, as a means to prevent lung cancer. Anastasia Gerolymatou, Kiki Tsakaldimi and Nikos Magitsis join us in this effort as companions and FairLife Ambassadors.
The events are held under the auspices of the Central Union of Municipalities in Greece (K.E.D.E.), the Municipality of Trikala, the Hellenic Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing (EOOA) and the Hellenic Cycling Federation (EOP).
Dimitris Papastergiou, Mayor of Trikala and President of KEDE states: “We welcome FairLife’s initiative in November, the Lung Cancer awareness month, here in Trikala, homeland of Asklepios. The action aims to convey a strong message of prevention within the context of a nationwide campaign. Together with FairLife, the citizens, the institutions and volunteers we promote life improvement, awareness and vigilance. Together in prevention, together in life! “
Nikolaos Kontos, President of E.O.O.A, notes: “To us, mountaineering, climbing and hiking are a way of life. In November, the Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we partner with FairLife and go out in nature. We participate in the Asklepieia #en_drasi, honoring ancient god of medicine Asklepios and supporting lung cancer patients. Every participation, every step, every breath has a special value, because Life should take your Breath away and not lung cancer.”
Vasilis Diamantopoulos, President of the Hellenic Cycling Federation, states: “To the Hellenic Cycling Federation, members of the cycling clubs, coaches and athletes, cycling is a way of life and recommended by all doctors to help you shape a healthy lifestyle. Therefore, we attend FairLife’s event, in November, the Lung Cancer Awareness Month and participate in Asklepieia #en_drasi either live or virtually, supporting such an important project “.
